Humberto Valencia, a proud immigrant from Colombia, South America, plays a crucial role in ensuring financial stability, risk management, compliance reporting, and adherence to accounting standards at Rising Star. Additionally, he oversees our information technology and software systems, focusing on the efficient management of these systems to ensure organizational stability and support our growth endeavors. With over 30 years of experience in engineering and administration processes, Humberto has held key positions in both the United States and Colombia. His extensive background includes serving as Executive Director and Finance Director for non-profit organizations in Colombia, as well as various leadership roles in accounting. His expertise is instrumental in driving the success and sustainability of our operations. Humberto holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia, and an Associate degree in Network and Communications from Richland College in Dallas. His journey, along with his family, is a true migration story, culminating in their attainment of full citizenship in 2016. Humberto has been a devoted husband to his wife Marta for over 27 years and is a proud father to their three grown children.
